Former Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning is the most famous free agent in Colorado history.

Broncos GM John Elway landed Manning in 2012 and the rest is history. He went to two Super Bowls, won one, put up historic numbers (including 55 touchdown passes in one season) and earned an MVP.

Peyton Manning still lives in the Denver area and has made the Mile High City home for him and his family.

Could the Nuggets, 14 years later, have a historic signing of their own?

That’s the buzz around town, as the franchise is actively seeking to sign LeBron James in free agency. Arguably the greatest player in NBA history, inking James would obviously be huge.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst originally mentioned the idea, The Denver Post reported the Nuggets have reached out to James and the odds of him signing with the Nuggets have swung dramatically.

Does this mean that James is headed to Denver? Of course not.

But it does show the hype is real and the Broncos decided to get involved. Every little bit helps, right?

As of now the Nuggets have been relatively quiet in free agency, but obviously if James signed a contract here it wouild break the Internet and the entire offseason rated as a massive success.

We can only hope.
