Federal Judge Rules Colorado Gay Marriage Ban Unconstitutional

Following suit with other states, Colorado has just become the latest state to lift its ban on same-sex marriage...almost.

A federal judge in Denver ruled Wednesday that the current ban on gay marriage in Colorado is unconstitutional.

Judge Raymond P. Moore’s ruling Wednesday was in response to a lawsuit filed July 1 by six gay couples who asked the court for an injunction ordering that the state’s ban no longer be enforced.

However, the Coloradoan reports the judge issued a stay, giving the state a chance to appeal before the ruling goes into effect.

In any case, looks like Colorado is well on its way to marriage equality.
