
Denver Just Landed in the Top 10 for Worst Mosquitoes
Summer in Colorado is a thing of beauty. There is no better time to be outdoors than these warm months. However, I have a problem with being outside in the summer.
Colorado Summer Comes With One Annoying Problem
For some reason, I attract mosquitoes like no one else. My wife, on the other hand, doesn't get bitten by them, like, ever. Anytime I am outside, even for just a moment, I have to coat myself in bug spray, or I will end up miserable for the next few days, covered in welts caused by mosquitoes.

If you get bitten quite a bit by mosquitoes in Colorado, know you are not alone. There is also another reason why you might feel like these bloodsucking pests seem to be attracted to you more in Colorado than in other states.
Denver Ranks Among the Worst Mosquito Cities in America
The pest-prevention company Orkin has released a list of cities with the worst mosquito populations, and Denver ranks among the worst. Ranking 10th based on the number of new residential mosquito treatments performed by Orkin from March 18, 2025, to March 18, 2026, Denver rounds out the top 10 list for 2026.

Other cities in the top 10 list include Houston, Dallas, Cleveland, Atlanta, Detroit, New York City, Chicago, and the number one city that is the worst for mosquitoes is Los Angeles.
If you are prone to being bitten by mosquitoes, just make sure you take proper precautions, so you are not itching like crazy this summer in Colorado. I know it stinks, but bug spray is your friend if you don't want to endure the itchy pain of mosquito bites this year.
