Many People in CO Need a Daily Escape, But Where Do They Go?
Life is stressful. Work, parenting, and being an adult can get overwhelming. Life seems to move fast, and things can come at you a million miles a minute, it seems. You are not alone if you feel stressed and can't handle the pressure. Sometimes you need a break, and that doesn't mean quitting your job, taking a vacation, or taking a day off, but instead escaping for a second or two. The silent escape is more common than you think, and many people take a quick break throughout the day to hit the reset button and to stop from having a breakdown. Many people in Colorado take a silent break every day, but where do they go, and how do they enjoy this break away from the stress?
Taking a Silent Break in Colorado
If you get overwhelmed and need to take a private or silent break throughout the day, you are not alone, as many admit to doing this. A recent study was published on freemanrecoverycenter.org about people taking silent breaks. According to the study, 91 percent of people admitted to taking a private break in the last year, with 47 percent admitting to doing this regularly. An astounding 47 percent admitted to doing this daily, with 22 percent saying they do it multiple times a day and 63 percent doing it multiple times a week. Why are people stepping away from the business of life? 44 percent said they do so to escape constant noise, and 54 percent say their need to decompress has increased over the last year. So where are people going to find silence, and how are they spending these private breaks?
How and Where to Relax in Colorado
When it comes to escaping for a bit, 62 percent said their favorite place to go to is the bedroom, with 43 percent going to the bathroom, and 35 percent turn to a shower to relax. The bathroom is a great place to be alone, and taking a shower allows you to relax to the sound of the water or the feeling of the warm water falling over you. If you need an excuse to escape your coworkers for a bit, 50 percent said they have used a health-related excuse that wasn't exactly accurate to help them get away. When finally in a quiet place, scrolling social media is the most common way people decompress, with 54 percent doing so, 46 percent sitting in complete silence, 15 percent choosing to use nicotine, 11 percent using cannabis, and 8 percent using alcohol.
