One of the things Northern Colorado parents deal with during the summer, is not only keeping the kids occupied, but also fed. Luckily, the schools around Fort Collins offer free lunches that are also cheap for when Mom and/or Dad want to join.

How Many Kids Go to Public Schools in Northern Colorado?

While there is talk about declining enrollment numbers across the state, there were nearly 70,000 kids enrolled in schools within the Poudre, Thomson and Weld school districts in the 2025-2026 school year.

Where are the Free Lunches for Kids Around the Poudre School District?

According to the Coloradoan, Poudre School District will have three places for any kid 18 and under to hit up. Adults can join in for $5.

Where is Thompson School District Holding Free Lunches?

According to the Coloradoan, Thompson will have two places:

  • Winona Elementary in Loveland and Fickel Park in Berthoud.
  • Hours: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Meals have to be eaten on-site.
  • Monday through Friday, through July 31 (no lunches July 2-3.)

Where Can Kids in Johnstown-Milliken Get Free Lunches During Summer?

The Weld RE-5J School District will set up at the Milliken Police Department with free lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays (10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) through August 6.

Where Else Can Kids in Weld County Get Free Lunches During the Summer?

While the Weld RE-4 School District does not have any free lunch locations, Greeley-Evans School District 6 does:

  • All District 6 school cafeterias (except Centennial, Fred Tjardes School of Innovation, Maplewood, Monfort, and the Student Access Center.)
  • Monday through Thursday Only, through June 30.
  • Breakfast Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch Hours: 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
