Denver Broncos star Nik Bonitto isn’t practicing with the rest of the team at training camp on Wednesday.

But there’s still great news to pass along.

One day after Bonitto was limping off the field with trainers, he was spotted by media members and fans and seemed to be in good spirits while walking around.

Bonitto also was getting some work on one of the Broncos’ side fields, used for guys rehabbing injuries.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton said after practice on Tuesday he thought Nik Bonitto would be “fine,” but had no other updates. Clearly, coach was right, because if it was anything serious Bonitto wouldn’t be attending practice the next day.

Payton is scheduled to speak after Wednesday’s long, 2.5 hour practice, and will hopefully offer up a few more details. Although he’s also in “regular season” mode, meaning Payton doesn’t like to discuss injuries.

Nik Bonitto is coming off a 14-sack season in which he was in the conversation for NFL Defensive Player of the Year until December. He had 13.5 sacks in 2024, earning himself a handsome new contract last summer.

And whatever he tweaked on Tuesday appears to be just that, a tweak. Broncos Country can take a deep breath — this will hopefully be a blip on the radar by the time Week 1 rolls around.
