Report: Broncos sign returner Sean Fresch Jr. from UFL

The Denver Broncos made an interesting signing on Monday, adding UFL Offensive Player of the Year Hakeem Butler. But the Orange and Blue weren’t done plucking players from the spring league, adding another St. Louis Battlehawks player, cornerback CB Sean Fresch Jr.

Fresch has been in the UFL the past two years after five years at Rice. He played 47 games in college across CUSA and the American.

In 10 games this spring, Fresch impressed as a returner. He took 32 punts for 333 yards and three kickoffs for 85 yards — earning him all-league honors. On defense, he made 29 tackles and broke up four passes while adding two sacks.

The addition, like the first UFL deal, is also interesting with the looming questions around Marvin Mims Jr. Butler might be a look to replace his offense but Fresch may be a look at another option in the return game, where Mims has been one of the best in the NFL.
