The Denver Broncos dodged one injury scare at training camp this week, now all eyes shift to Jaylen Waddle.

Denver’s big offseason prize left practice early on Wednesday and didn’t return. His absence came early on and Waddle wasn’t spotted again.

This comes one day after star edge-rusher Nik Bonitto departed early, but was seen in good spirits and working on the side field today.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton had a brief update on the health of Jaylen Waddle after he left with head trainer Vince Garcia into Denver’s locker room.

It’s only Aug. 5, so playing it safe with the health of Jaylen Waddle makes sense. Any sort of muscle tightness should not be messed with. And Waddle is a veteran who’s earned the right to leave practice if something doesn’t feel right.

The Broncos traded a first-round pick (and more) for Waddle from the Miami Dolphins in March, providing QB Bo Nix with the most electric player he’s ever taken an NFL field with.

Elsewhere, Denver WR Courtland Sutton wasn’t in pads for a second straight day, but Payton expects him to return on Thursday.

It’s definitely that time of year where monitoring training camp injuries can be stressful, but it looks like the Broncos continue to remain relatively okay.
